UNISA Exams To Commence In September 2021 | Check Full Details Here

UNISA has made announcements concerning its upcoming exams. Students might remember, not fondly, that this year’s exams will be a bit different than previous years.

UNISA exams for the 2021 academic year are less than a month away. This examination period would be the only examination period students had this year after Unisa made some major changes.

Exams are set to commence on 6 September 2021 and they will end in November. These exams will take place online due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The University released a short statement saying:

The September to November 2021 examination timetable will be sent to you soon.

They then went on to encourage students to submit all assignments by the dates indicated in their tutorial letters and on myUnisa.

Due to Covid-19 protocols, Unisa has decided to schedule their examinations into a single period at the end of the academic year. This means that students will be writing both semester one and semester two’s exams in a single period, rather than having two separate exam periods.

However, this change was not received well by students with one saying, “exams are already so draining and asking us to write 10 exams so close to each other, it’s very upsetting”.

He continued to say:

I get why they did it because of late registrations but it’s bad because it doesn’t take into account the mental health aspect. Writing 10 exams in an exam period in school is okay but in University, it’s asking a lot.

Students have also said that they feel that they have to suffer and face the consequences for Unisa being incompetent.

Unisa has also said that the examination results for the June/July 2021 Early Completion Programme examination period will be released by 31 August 2021.
