NSFAS Application 2021 Opens At Port Elizabeth TVET College

The National Student Financial Aid Scheme was introduced to provide underprivileged students with the opportunity to attend either a public university or TVET college. The bursary has helped many students achieve their dreams and help create a better life for themselves and their families.

Technical and Vocational Education and Training courses are equipped to prepare students for particular jobs or entrepreneurial possibilities. These courses offered at Port Elizabeth TVET College provide students with the vocational and occupational skills needed to find employment in the country.

These students will not only be qualified for particular jobs, however, they will also gain entrepreneurial skills to start new businesses.

WHO MAY APPLY:

The following students may apply for the bursary at Port Elizabeth College:

  • New students registering in the second semester.
  • Students who unfortunately did not qualify in the first semester due to poor grades, however, qualify due to academic progress made in the first semester.

WHO DO NOT NEED TO APPLY:

  • However, the following students do not need to reapply: Those who received NSFAS funding in the first semester. They will continue to receive funding as long as they meet the bursary requirements.

The financial aid office at Port Elizabeth TVET College has advised students to submit their applications to the bursary office as soon as possible. The sooner they apply, the sooner their funding status will be finalised.

HOW TO TRACK APPLICATION:

Once students have applied they may track their application by following the steps below:

  1. Click Here to visit the website.
  2. Fill in your username and password.
  3. Select “SIGN IN!”.
  4. Select “Track Application Progress”.

Once they have been cleared for funding students will receive:

  • Accommodation in an urban area of R24,000 per annum.
  • Accommodation in a peri-urban area R18,900 per annum.
  • Accommodation in a rural area R15,750 per annum.
  • Transport (up to 40 km from the institution) R7,350  per annum.
  • Transport R7000 per annum.
  • Incidental/personal care allowance R2900 per annum.
