Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the MTN Joyous Celebration Talent Search 2024-2025. Yayyyyy! I can feel the cold of ecstasy sip through my entire body already and I know you feel that way too.

A sequel to South Africa’s first democratic elections in 1994, Joyous Celebration was created as one of South Africa’s Gospel Choirs, and the group has shaken the globe with its exceptional presentations over the years.

At that time, there didn’t seem much hope for the group, because it was meant to be a one-time studio project but look how it evolved into a huge playground for hundreds of upcoming artists in South Africa. As one of the most successful gospel choirs in SA aside from The Soweto Gospel Choir, the group had released 23 albums as of 2019.

How To Audition

Which Country Can Audition?

Vocalists from South Africa and beyond who are interested are invited to register.

The first step which is pre-registration is to send an SMS or Whatsapp your details (Name, Surname, ID Number, and Mobile Number) to 073 217 3717.

Venue For Audition

• Auditions will be held in 3 of SA’s biggest cities, Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban.
• Registration is currently open for Cape Town auditions until 31st May at 12h00.
• The dates of the auditions are as follows:
• Cape Town – 1 June
• Johannesburg – 11 and 12 July
• Durban – 2 and 3 August

MTN Joyous Celebration Digital Auditions

The digital audition has three components:

• The main competition is to win the main prize/s and become an MTN Joyous Celebration member, is voted on by members of the public (“Voters’) and the Joyous Celebration Foundation.
• A competition to win smaller prize/s for social media interaction..
• A competition to win smaller prize/s for subscribing to MTN Joyous Celebration CallerTunez (the “Competition”).

How To Enter For The Competition

Contestants can enter the competition as follows:

• Download Ayoba the all-in-one app that offers free instant messaging, voice and video calling, games, music, news, entertainment news, and other content; and
• Subscribe to the MTN Joyous Celebration channel & find out how you could become the newest choir member.

 Eligibility For Entry

You can participate in the Competition as a Contestant and Voter if you meet the following criteria:

• If you are not: (a) an employee or director of the Promoter; (b) the Promoter’s prize sponsors; or (c) advertising agencies, PR companies, sponsors, partners, immediate family members, agents, consultants or household members of (a) or (b).
• If you are a South African permanent resident or citizen with a valid 13-digit South African identity document.
• If you are 18 years of age or above or if you are under the age of 18 (a minor) but are duly represented by a parent or legal guardian, and the parent or legal guardian hereby represents and warrants that he/she has the right, power, and authority to consent to these T&Cs on your behalf (the minor) and him/herself.

 Process For Contestants

In order to participate in the Competition, each contestant must submit a video recording of them performing an MTN Joyous Celebration track from the Exclusive Album before the submission date on mtnjoyouscelebration.co.za (the ‘Service’).

• Maximum song length is 2 minutes.
• Contestants may only submit up to two songs.
• Contestants may only enter as an individual, group entries will not be accepted.
• Contestants and/or songs that do not comply with these rules are automatically disqualified from the competition OR may at the Promoter’s absolute discretion, result in disqualification from the competition.
