About Kenya Education Fund

The story of KEF weaves together the rich histories of three organizations,  the Kenya Education Fund (est. 2006), the Nomadic Kenyan Children’s Educational Fund (NKCEF, est. 2001), and the Children of Kibera Foundation (est. 2007).

KEF has over 20 years of collective experience working to promote education in Kenya.

KEF was started by former Peace Corps Volunteer, Bradley Broder and local community leader, Dominic Muasya, to keep kids in high school when their means did not allow it.

Mistake To Avoid While Applying For KEF Scholarship

A lot of people fail in many applications not because they are not qualified, but because of the numerous mistakes they make. So take note of the following:

  • Apply on time, do not wait for the deadline.
  • Do the application processes alone, don’t send anybody to avoid mistakes in your data
  • Keep yourself updated concerning the application
  • Make sure you supply all the necessary requirements
  • Take time to cross-check your details before submission.
  • Candidates are to apply for one job position, Candidates who attempt to apply multiple times will have their application disqualified
  • The online application is free.

KEF Requirements & Qualifications

  • Must be a current Kenyan Standard 8 candidate
  • Must meet KEF standards of Financial Need and Academic Merit
  • Must Attain 320 In KCPE.

  • KEF does not provide University or College Scholarships.
  • Application forms from previous years will not be considered.
  • Incomplete applications will not be considered. Follow the directions on the form carefully.
  • Applications filled out by anyone other than the requesting student will not be considered.
  • All application forms have a serial number associated with the applicant to whom it was given or emailed. Any forms that are returned to us where the serial number does not match the student to whom it was assigned will not be considered.
  • Submitting an application form is not a guarantee that you will receive a scholarship.
