The Dow Jones News Fund seeks college juniors, seniors and graduate students with a sharp eye and creative edge to produce digital content for newsrooms next summer. Build your portfolio with a digital media internship at a TV or radio station, newspaper website or digital publication.

Before the jobs start, interns learn the very latest multimedia techniques during a crash course at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University. From analyzing web traffic to social media management and designing responsive websites to creating audio and video content, interns practice how to stay ahead in the rapidly evolving media ecosystem before going to internships around the country.

Benefits

  • Students selected for the college internship programs receive immersive, specialized, all-expenses paid training at universities before their internships, weekly salaries of at least $450 for a minimum of 10 weeks, $1,500 scholarships for students and graduates with federal loans.
  • Digital media interns also receive a one-year membership to the Online News Association, a subscription to the digital AP Stylebook and a lifetime membership to the DJNF alumni network.

Eligibility

  • College juniors, seniors and graduate students who are enrolled in school full-time as of the application deadline are eligible to apply for the college internship programs. This includes December graduates.
  • Former professionals (those who have worked full-time on staff as a journalist for a year or more) in the U.S. or abroad are not eligible.

How To Apply

To apply to any or all of the DJNF college internship programs, students must complete an online application, attach supporting documentation and take a test proctored at their college or university. The application deadline for summer 2021 is November 9, 2020.
