About Zambia Correctional Service

The Zambia Correctional Service is governed by chapter 97 of the laws of Zambia (Prisons Act), which was under review in 2016 following the Service’s name change from Zambia Prisons Service to Zambia Correctional Service on 5th January 2016. According to article 193 of the Republican Constitution, the Service is mandated to manage all prisons and correctional centres across the country.

Zambian Correctional Service Recruitment Requirements

In order to be accepted into the Zambian Correctional Service, applicants must possess the following:

  • Must be a citizen of Zambia and possess your green national registration card.
  • Should be between eighteen (18) and twenty-five (25) years of age and not less than 1.6m in height.
  • Must have (14) points and below at grade 12 level which should include English, Mathematics, Science, and two other subjects.
  • Must be medically, physically, and mentally fit to partake in various training.
  • You must have a Height of 173cm or 5.8ft for males and 165 cm or 5.4ft for females
  • Female candidates should not be pregnant at the time of application
  • Must have no criminal record.
