The Capital Markets Authority is an independent public agency established by an Act of Parliament, Cap 485 A under The National Treasury and Planning. The Authority came into being on December 15, 1989 when the Act was passed and was inaugurated in March 1990.

The CMA is a regulating body charged with the prime responsibility of supervising, licensing and monitoring the activities of market intermediaries, including the stock exchange and the central depository and settlement system and all the other persons licensed under the Capital Markets Act.

It plays a critical role in the economy by facilitating mobilization and allocation of capital resources to finance long term productive investments.

Applications are invited for:

Title: Student Attachment – Administration

Job Type: Full Time

Qualification: KCSE

Location: Nairobi

Job Field: Administration / Secretarial, Internships / Volunteering

Attachment Period: 3 months (non-renewable)

Reporting to the Senior Administrative Officer, the selected candidate will be responsible for;

  1. Coordinating transport logistics at the Authority under the guidance of the Senior Administrative Officer;
  2. Support in coordinating repairs of office equipment, facilities and motor vehicles in line with the maintenance plan;
  3. Coordinating mail delivery and other correspondences;
  4. Preparing monthly utilization reports on office utilities and other related services; and
  5. Undertake other assignments as assigned from time to time.

Minimum Requirements

  1. A continuing student pursuing a bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Business Management, Business Administration, Public Administration and any other related business degree
  2. Basic computer skills

Title: Student Attachment – Enforcement

Job Type: Full Time

Qualification: KCSE

Location: Nairobi

Job Field: Internships / Volunteering

Attachment Period: 3 months (non-renewable)

Reporting to the Manager Enforcement the selected candidate will be responsible for;

  1. Support in maintaining database of matters received with enforcement considerations;
  2. Support in preparing reports as may be required from time to time;
  3. Liaising with relationship managers of different licensees to confirm position of matters; and
  4. Undertake other assignments as assigned from time to time.

Minimum Requirements

  1. A continuing student pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Law (LLB) or Kenya School of Law student

Reporting to the Senior Investor Education Officer, the selected candidate will be responsible for;

  1. Facilitating requisitions and logistics with Supply Chain Management;
  2. Facilitating Logistics of organizing webinars and one on one meetings;
  3. Analyzing data from webinar survey and polls;
  4. Developing Reports for awareness events;
  5. Updating the departmental shared folders;
  6. Responding to public inquiries through departmental shared folders; and
  7. Undertake other assignments as assigned from time to time.

Title: Student Attachment – Strategy Risk and Projects

Job Type: Full Time

Qualification: KCSE

Reporting to the Senior Officer Projects the selected candidate will be responsible for;

  1. Providing support to Senior Officer Projects by maintaining project information on Project Portfolio Office (PPO);
  2. Updating schedules, Project statuses and information on PPO;
  3. Handling requests for Information and data from PPO;
  4. Preparing/ customizing reports on PPO;
  5. Being involved in research to make the unit perform its duties more efficiently and efficiently; and
  6. Undertake other assignments as assigned from time to time.

Minimum Requirements

  1. A continuing student pursuing a bachelor’s degree or Diploma in any Information Technology related field or Projects Management.

  1. Providing support in tender/request for quotation evaluation;
  2. Supporting in record management;
  3. Following up with service providers on contract execution;
  4. Support in raising and processing purchase/service orders; and
  5. Undertake other assignments as assigned from time to time.
