About the Lesotho Defence Force
The history of the Lesotho Defence Force (LDF) dates back to 1964 when the Police Mobile Unit(PMU) was formed in response to social disturbances that included labour strikes. In 1965, three British police officers, Bunn, Mcfall and Hurst arrived in Lesotho from Zambia.
